Applications are now being accepted!

Some instrument sections may have limited space to preserve the balance of the ensemble and offer equal playing opportunities. Early registration is recommended as applicants who apply before the deadline will be offered placements first. 

Please read all of the application information prior to filling out your application.

 To apply for a position with the NSJWE please fill out the application form and have your band director or private teacher fill out their reference form. Applications are open to students in grade 6 through High School.

  • Application forms MUST be submitted online prior to midnight May 31st, 2026. Late applications will automatically be waitlisted. Although we try to accept as many eligible applicants as possible, some sections are more likely to be capped to maintain balance in the ensemble.
  • Only 7 percussionists will be accepted each year.
  • Membership fees are now $200 for all applicants. Fees are not due with the NSJWE application.
  • All new and returning members need to purchase a uniform shirt. This cost is including in your yearly fees.
  • Once the deadline has passed you will be contacted to confirm your application has been completed, and your teacher reference form has been submitted. If you are unable to get a reference please contact admin@nsjwe.ca.
  • Once you have been accepted your fees will be due before August 31st 2026. These may be paid via e-transfer or cheque. Please note once accepted, all fees are non refundable.  The NSJWE offers several bursaries as well, please check out the bursary page for details. 
  • Fees can be paid via e-transfer to treasurer@nsjwe.ca.
